Led by Sheila Panitz, Junior Congregation meets one or two Saturday mornings a month from 10:30 am - 11:30 am on Zoom for prayers, stories, interactive games, discussions and friendship.
On first and second mornings of Rosh Hashannah and on the morning of Yom Kippur, activities for children begin at 9:30 with an hour of holiday-appropriate crafts. Children’s worship begins at 10:30. Services for younger children are conducted by qualified Jewish Educators in one of the classrooms. Services for ages 7 and up are conducted in Sandler Hall by Sheila Panitz. At noon, a light snack is served to the children and then they have supervised play in Sandler Hall and in the play yard until adult services end and the parents come to retrieve the children.
Purim:
The youngsters have an early supper in Sandler Hall followed by a child-friendly mini-megillah service in the sanctuary. Then as adults enjoy a Purimshpiel and megillah reading, children are engaged with a Treasure Hunt or other activities.
