IN-PERSON SHABBAT SERVICES ARE COMING BACK

Have you missed in-person services and seeing your friends at the synagogue? Well, if so, you will be happy to know that, beginning in August, we will be having in-person services every Shabbat. Services will also be live streamed and on Zoom for those who are still not comfortable coming back, or who are unable to come to in-person services.

However, due to the very contagious Delta variant of the Coronavirus - we have changed our protocol for attending services. You MUST be vaccinated to attend services and everyone attending services MUST wear a mask. When services are over, you will be asked to leave your prayer books in your seat so we will know which seats need to be sanitized. Also, beginning the Shabbat of August 28th, you will see a RED X on some rows. DO NOT sit in the rows with the RED X as we are marking these rows off to help keep everyone socially distanced from each other.

Also, there will only be one Zoom number for all services, rather than a different number for Shabbat services and a different number for minyan services. That Zoom information is as follows:

Meeting ID - 674-044-866
Password - 296993

We look forward to seeing you in services!

This Year's High Holiday Appeal
Everyone should have received a High Holiday Appeal card in your most recent mailing. On the card, it says to put your ticket in the envelope. You do not have to do this. Simply call the office, email the office, or drop your check in the mail. The High Holiday Appeal card was designed when we originally intended to pass them out on Rosh Hashanah. To save time during services, we are not going to be doing this. Thank you for your continued support of Temple Israel through our High Holiday appeal.
We're Putting Up The Sukkah!
Come join the Men's Club this Sunday, September 12th, at 9:00am, to help put up the Temple Israel sukkah. Once the Temple Israel sukkah is up, the Men's Club will move to the Panitz home to put up their sukkah. Everyone is invited to come help!

JFS Food Pantries NEED YOUR HELP!
The need for food and household items is not over. The JFS Food Pantries are especially in need of items that SNAP benefits do not provide. This includes paper items (toilet paper, paper towels and tissues) and cleaning products (laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid and disinfecting wipes.) The pantry seeks replenishment of essential items such as ground beef, fresh chicken, canned proteins like tuna and chicken, in addition to pasta, pasta sauce and canned fruits and vegetables. Please drop off non-perishable food items in the box located in front of the Sandler Family Campus and frozen foods at the Security Desk. You can be an angel from home as gift cards and online donations enable JFS volunteers to shop for these essentials. Call JFS at 757- 459-4640 or visit jfshamptonroads.org.
Meals on Wheels
Senior Services of SE Virginia is in dire need of drivers to deliver meals to clients throughout the Chesapeake, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach areas. Meals are picked up at Beth Shalom Village in the morning and delivered Monday-Thursday. Drivers can work any day and routes are accommodating to your preference. Please call/text Jinee Lawhorne or Lawrence Pitts at 757-910-2462 for more information.
