Tikkun Layl Shavuot evening of Torah Learning

This year, Temple Israel and Congregation Beth El will again join forces for the Shavuot-eve celebration of Jewish learning.

We will meet at Congregation Beth El, Saturday evening, May 19, at 7:00 pm. The evening will begin with the "Sabbath third meal", the traditional supper served just before the end of Shabbat.

Then we will continue with the brief but beautiful "Havdalah" ceremony, marking the transition from Shabbat to weekday, and turn to the special program for the evening:

TELL ME TORAH I DON'T KNOW: A New Kind of Interactive Tikkun Layl Shavuot. The way to celebrate Torah and Learning that guarantees we all walk out a little smarter.

Based oh the acclaimed podcast by Stephen Dubner, "Tell Me Something I Don't Know," contestants are invited on stage to share some piece of Jewish knowledge we don't know. Our panel of Jewish educators willl ask them questions and by the end we've all gotten a bit smarter. Our theme of the night is Torah (what else?). There's also a real-time fact-checker to keep us honest and add tasty tidbits. It's like the most crackling dinner-party conversation you've ever heard.
